State Championships

The 2009-2010 State Championships were held on 19, 20 and 21 March 2010 at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.  Friday evening competition was included for the second time with the last events (Track) concluding at 9:20pm.  Saturday and Sunday seemed to run smoothly with Field finishing mid afternoon on both days.  It will be interesting to see how the format was received and whether further changes will be implemented next season.

Congratulations go to every athlete that competed at State.  Once again there were some magnificent performances.  Many athletes recorded huge personal bests.

The Mid South Coast Zone nominee, Rachelle Grozde, from the Albion Park Centre, was awarded the Region 5 McDonald’s Scholarship.  Rachelle showed her potential during the weekend by picking up gold in the Under 15 Girls Shot Put, Discus and Javelin.  Well done Rachelle!
