The Shoalhaven Gala Day on Sunday 8th February has been moved to Kiama Sports Complex.
For those that are not aware the Shoalhaven Centre suffered a catastrophe earlier this season when Council inadvertently sprayed their track at Ron Brown Sporting Complex in East Nowra with Roundup. Needless to say the result was dead grass and bare patches of dirt.
After due consideration Shoalhaven have decided that, due to the condition of the track, they will not be able to hold their annual Gala Day at Ron Brown Sporting Complex.
Consequently this carnival has been moved to the Kiama Sports Complex.
The Gala Day will still be hosted by the Shoalhaven Centre - only the venue has changed.
Many of you will remember that the Shoalhaven Centre came to Kiama's rescue in January 2011 when the Zone Championships were scheduled to be held in Kiama but had to be postponed due to atrocious weather. Shoalhaven offered their ground and facilities to Kiama and they were able to host Zone at the Ron Brown Sporting Complex.
Under the circumstances the Kiama Centre was more than happy to return the favour.
